2008 SBDC of the Year!

"The McLennan Community College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has been honored for its outstanding performace with the "SBDC of the Year" away from the Dallas/Ft. Worth District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

The award recognizes MCC SBDC's achievements in several areas, including excessing SBA milestones set for the SBDC's acress the country and establishing economic development initiatives--in particular the more than $2.7 million in capital it infused into the Waco area. Other criteria for the award include meeting economic impact goals, providing special services and contributing to community development of entrepreneurs.

The North Texas Regional Office of SBDC nominated the MCC office for the award, which was presented at the 2008 Salute to Small Business luncheon on May 1 in Arlington, Texas.

MCC SBDC--which serves Bell, Bosque, Coryell, Falls, Hill, Johnson, and McLennan counties--provides management assistance through a variety of free training and consulting services of current and prospective small business owners.
