The Cell Block in Clifton, Texas is featured in Texas Monthly's May edition. Listed as one of the top 10 places in Texas to stay in 2016, the one-room former jail is now a famous boutique hotel. The chic historical restoration is the inspired genius of serial entrepreneurs Kaye Johnson and daughter, Melissa. Thoughtful design details and whimsical references to life behind bars abound - the shower soap is branded "Don't Drop" and the roof deck is the "prison yard." The hotel is located in the middle of Clifton's mural-covered Art Alley, a short walk to locally owned shops, galleries, restaurants, B&B and historic movie theater.
